A Unique Approach
Hybrid
Instructors teaches remotely, students are in the classroom in front of the projector, a teaching assistant is present in the class to help. The teaching assistant also helps with in-person office hours and grading.
In-Person
Instructors teaches in-person, classes are held at a local university, a teaching assistant is present in the class to help. The teaching assistant also helps with in-person office hours and grading.
Excellence
Classes accord to international standards irrespective of enrollment. Instruction language is primarily English, textbooks are also in English. Regular homework assignments and exams are employed.
Accessibility
All classes are accessible to all students in Armenia for free. A placement exam is used to make sure that enrolled students have the necessary background.
Assessment
Students, instructors, and teaching assistants are asked to complete pre-class and post-class assessments. The program is continually evaluated and adjusted based on the results of these assessment tools.
Instructors
Instructors are mostly from the ASOF international network, which includes 70 professors from the top 100 universities, including 3 Nobel Laureates. Local faculty can also be selected to deliver classes. Teaching assistants are graduate or undergraduate students selected by the instructors. Selected teaching assistants often teach for multiple years, and some might end up leading some of the classes while they build up experience.
Content
Many classes include with hands-on training elements, including laboratory work. The curriculum is determined by the ARCS.ai Board in consultation with local universities and industry. Interdisciplinary subjects on the cutting edge of the sciences and technology are encouraged. To secure participation by highly accomplished scholars in teaching, flexibility is afforded for the time frame and dates of the classes — ranging from 2-week long to 14-week classes, arranged during periods of a semester, quarter, or summer.
